Microsuction Ear Wax Removal Basingstoke

At Premium Care Hearing Basingstoke, we provide safe and effective microsuction ear wax removal. We also do ear wax removal by irrigation if needed.

Microsuction is one of the safest and most precise methods of ear wax removal, using advanced equipment to gently remove blockages without the need for water.

What to Expect During Your Appointment:

  • We start with a visual inspection of your ears (otoscopy).

  • You’ll be seated comfortably in our treatment chair while our experienced clinician performs the procedure using a head-mounted microscope for a clear view of your ear canal.

  • A small plastic cone (speculum) is gently inserted, and our medical-grade suction unit carefully removes the wax with a sterile probe.

  • After removal, we take a image of your ear canal to confirm the results.

Prices:

Age: 17 years and above

£55 for One ear £65 for Both ears

£35 if no wax with hearing health check

£80 if no wax with full hearing test and medical report

Why Choosing a Qualified Ear Wax Removal Specialist Matters

In recent months, we’ve seen an increasing number of patients who have experienced discomfort or complications following ear wax removal performed by untrained or inexperienced practitioners.

Since routine ear wax removal services were withdrawn by the NHS, some companies have started offering quick training courses—sometimes just a day or two—to individuals with little or no clinical background. This has led to cases where patients have required repeated treatments, or worse, experienced damage to the ear canal or eardrum due to poor technique.

At Premium Care Hearing, all ear wax removal is carried out by a qualified audiologist using microsuction—a safe, hospital-grade method. Your hearing health is too important to risk.

Even if you choose a different provider, we strongly recommend asking about their training, clinical qualifications, and experience in performing this delicate procedure.

How to Prepare for Your Ear Wax Removal Appointment

To ensure a smooth and effective procedure, we recommend using a wax softening spray like Earol for 3 to 5 days before your appointment — unless we’ve advised otherwise.

Using olive oil spray helps soften the wax, making it easier and more comfortable to remove. During this time, you may experience temporary hearing loss or a blocked sensation, which is completely normal as the wax softens and shifts in the ear canal.

Still Having Trouble Hearing After Ear Wax Removal?

If you’ve already had ear wax removed and are still struggling to hear clearly, it could be due to underlying hearing loss. We recommend booking a hearing test or exploring our range of hearing aids to find the right solution for you.
